The Clark County Board of Developmental Disabilities has employment opportunities for caring people who require a strong sense of fulfillment and satisfaction in a "people helping people" work environment.

Positions eligible for benefits are 30 hours per week for Transportation, 32 hours per week for other departments.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT:
Eligibility for hire includes completion of three satisfactory professional, work related references; successful completion of local, state and federal records checks; acceptable driving record and proof of Ohio Financial Liability; negative results of a Two Step Mantoux TB test, as well as negative results of a urine drug screen. Upon offer of hire, a physical examination and lift test (if applicable) must be completed and passed.

Certain positions require registration or certification from the Ohio Department of Development Disabilities and must be maintained throughout employment. According to State law, any individual employed by a County Board of Developmental Disabilities in a position that includes directly providing, or supervising people who directly provide services to individuals with Developmental Disabilities, must hold the appropriate certification, registration, or license.  Some employees are exempt from the requirement to hold registration or certification issued by Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD):

  • Individuals who hold a valid license or certificate such as doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists and perform only those duties governed by the license or certificate
  • Individuals employed in an ICFMR (Intermediate Care Facility for the Mentally Retarded) facility

Non-degreed positions require a high school diploma or G.E.D. Degreed positions require original transcripts upon hire (a copy of transcripts is acceptable with applications).

Vehicle operators require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an SP endorsement. The CDL must be maintained throughout employment in these positions.

THE CLARK COUNTY BOARD OF DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER AND SERVICE PROVIDER.
